My home, sweet home. This courtyard is pretty nice. I've stayed there before. Quite honestly, it's cheaper to stay in Denver than it is Colorado Springs. (I have no idea why, but it is!) And Denver is just about an hour north of the Springs. Garden on the Gods is a great spot. Be sure to bring plenty of sun screen though! As for other things to do, Royal Gorge is always fun. You could hike across the bridge and then take a rafting trip under it on the great Arkansas River. But definitly drive up the Pikes Peak Road. You will never forget that. A little scary but safe. It just looks scarey. Then go see the Broadmore Hotel. Its worth a look. Head up North a bit and just West of Castle Rock you can tent camp at Deckers. Right on the South Platte River. Really beautiful. Further North is Black Hawk and Central City. So close they are like one mountain town. Like the old west. Including small stakes gaming tables and slot machines. All to the old west tradition. And don't leave there without checking out The Little Bear in Evergreen. Have some beers and listen to some great local and sometimes even national bands.Have fun.
